Jonathan Challis
Ph.D.
Jonathan Challis was a Vanier Scholar at the University of Manitoba, co-supervised by Dr. Mark Hanson (University of Manitoba) and Dr. Charles Wong (University of Winnipeg). His PhD work focused on the development and validation of passive sampling tools for the accurate measurement of polar organic contaminants in aquatic systems. Upon completion of his PhD in 2018, Dr. Challis worked as a Banting post-doctoral fellow at the University of Saskatchewan Toxicology Centre where he used high-resolution mass spectrometry and ecotoxicological tools to understand the fate and effects of contaminants in aquatic systems.
In January 2022, Dr. Challis accepted a Research Scientist position at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada at the Lethbridge Research Development Centre where he is leading the Pesticide Chemistry Research group. His research interests and publications can be found here:
