Mark Hanson, Ph.D
Professor
Mark is a Professor and Head of Department for Environment and Geography. He obtained his B.Sc. (Hons) at the University of Toronto, Ph.D. (Toxicology) at the University of Guelph, and was a post-doctoral fellow at the Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique (INRA; Rennes, France) before joining the University of Manitoba in 2004. Mark’s research expertise is in the area of ecological risk assessment, especially in the area of pesticides, emerging contaminants, and wastewaters in freshwater and marine ecosystems. He has been a member of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry since 1997 and is currently the president of the Prairie Northern Chapter of SETAC.
