Kenzie was a part of the Freshwater Oil Spill Remediation Project (FOReST) during the 2019 field season, evaluating the impact that diluted bitumen clean up methods had on the lower trophic level of a boreal lake. For this project she monitored and evaluated the impact the clean-up methods had on phytoplankton, periphyton, and zooplankton. She is now using her knowledge gained in the U of M ecotoxicology lab working as an environmental consultant based out of Calgary.
