Zac Moorhead
M.Sc.

Zac Moorhead is currently completing an M.Sc. through the Hanson Lab. The initial objective of his research was to complete a critical review was conducted to gain an understanding of both the current condition of all available all available peer reviewed pesticide toxicity studies as they pertain to the standard assay species, Xenopus laevis, and all other amphibians wherein X. laevis toxicity data was obtained. Zac completed the compilation amphibian toxicity data in December 2025; and he is currently assessing the methodology of each published acute toxicity test against a set of criteria tailored to amphibian related assays. Following the completion of paper scoring, Zac intends to compare the relative sensitivity of X. laevis, when accounting for study quality, to other amphibian species. Finally, where sufficient individual compound data exists, Zac intends to construct species sensitivity distributions (SSDs) to allow for an evaluation of the risk to amphibians in Canada and the United States.
